Famous Savannah Praline Crunch Party Mix Recipe – Signature Recipe*

Ingredients:
1⁄4 cup Butter (melted)
1⁄2 cup Brown Sugar
1⁄2 cup Savannah Flavoring Southern Praline Mix
1⁄2 teaspoon Baking Soda
6 cups Chex Cereal
2 cup Pecan Nut Halves
Directions: Mix together the cereal and pecan halves in a 9 x 13 pan. In a saucepan, combine melted butter, brown sugar and Southern Praline Mix. Heat on medium to boiling and gently cook for 2 min. Remove from heat. Stir the baking soda into this mixture until foaming. Pour over the cereal and nuts. Stir to cool. Bake in oven at 250 degrees F for 1 hour.
Spread on cookie sheet to cool.

For even more flavor and coating, double the sauce and use the original amount of cereal and pecans

Cheesy Party Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 can flaky buttermilk biscuits
  • 8 ounce cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup Southern Praline Mix
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

 

Directions: Separate each biscuit into 3 or 4 layers.  Mix the cream cheese and Southern Praline Mix together.  Add in the powdered sugar and mix until smooth.  Add ½ tablespoon of mixture to each biscuit layer.  Fold over and crimp edges together with tine of fork.  Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 min. until golden brown.  Remove from oven and add glaze.

Pecan Praline Crunch

Ingredients:

  • 8 cups Quaker Oats Cereal
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup Southern Praline Mix
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Directions:  Stir together Quaker Oats Cereal and pecan halves in a 13 x 9 pan. Melt butter, brown sugar and Southern Praline Mix.  Heat until boiling and gently cook for about 2 minutes.  Add baking soda and stir until foamy.  Pour over cereal and nuts. Stir to coat well.  Bake at 250 degrees for one hour.  Spread on cookie sheet to cool.

 

Chocolate Praline Nut Cracker

Ingredients:

  • 12 whole graham crackers
  • 1 stick butter
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup Southern Praline Mix
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1 ½ cup chocolate chips

Directions:  Preheat oven to 275 degrees.  Spray a 12 x 17 shallow baking pan generously with cooking spray.  Break graham crackers into quarters and arrange tightly on bottom of the pan.  Combine the butter and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil.  Cook the butter mixture for 4-5 min.  Stir in the Southern Praline Mix and baking soda.  Stir the pecans into the mixture.  Pour mixture over the graham crackers.  Bake everything for 25 min.   Remove from oven.  Sprinkle chocolate chips over the crackers, allowing them to melt, and spread roughly.  Cool, then break or cut into pieces.

Desserts & Toppings

EZ Praline Cake:

Ingredients:

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup Southern Praline Mix
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:  Prepare cake mix according to the directions on the box.  Bake the cake in 9 x 13 pan.  Simmer Southern Praline Mix, heavy cream and chopped pecans over low heat in sauce pan for 15 min.  Poke holes in the cake with a large fork and pour sauce over cake.

Praline Dip

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounce package cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup Southern Praline Mix

Directions:  With an electric mixer, whip softened cream cheese until fluffy.  Mix in the Southern Praline Mix.  Stir in the finely chopped pecans.

Praline Nutty Topping

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 ½ cup finely chopped pecans
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup Southern Praline Mix

 

Directions:  Melt butter in a pan, add pecans, and cook over medium heat until toasted.  Add brown sugar, Southern Praline Mix, and simmer 5-7 minutes.

Praline Whipped Topping

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. Container Thawed Cool Whip
  • 4 tbsp. Southern Praline Mix

 

Directions: Blend ingredients together.

Praline Fudge

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. box Powdered Sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 stick of butter cut into small pieces
  • ¼ cup Southern Praline Mix
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ½ cup chopped nuts if desired

 

Directions: Mix together the powdered sugar and the cocoa powder.  Add butter.  Pour Southern Praline Mix over the mixture.  DO NOT STIR! Microwave 4 to 5 minutes.  Add 1 tsp vanilla and ½ cup chopped nuts if desired then stir until smooth.  Pour into a buttered pan. Cool and cut into small squares.

Praline Toddy

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon Southern Praline Mix
  • ½ cup chopped, toasted pecans
  • 3 tablespoon bourbon or rum

 

Directions:  Combine corn syrup, sugar, egg and butter in heavy saucepan.  Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.  Continue to boil for 2 minutes without stirring.  Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.  Serve warm or at room temperature.

Eggnog Latte

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup good strong hot coffee
  • 1 oz. Southern Praline Mix
  • 1 Splash Southern Praline Mix
  • 1 dollop whipped topping

 

Directions:  In a warmed mug of coffee, add Southern Praline Mix.  Mix in a splash of Southern Praline.  Mix Southern Praline Mix and a dollop of whipped topping together.  Garnish coffee mixture whipped topping.

Praline Cooler

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooled very strong coffee
  • ½ cup Hershey’s chocolate syrup
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup Praline Mix

 

Directions:  Whisk together all ingredients.  Serve over ice.

Hot Scotch Treat

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. Southern Praline Mix
  • 1 mug hot milk
  • Miniature marshmallows

 

Directions:  Add Southern Praline Mix to a mug of hot milk.  Top with miniature marshmallows.

Praline Cafe Royale

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Southern Praline Mix
  • ¾ cup strong black coffee
  • 2 cups vanilla or coffee ice cream
  • 8oz thawed whipped topping
  • ¼ cup Southern Praline Mix
  • Shot of rum or brandy (optional)

 

Directions:  Blend until smooth Southern Praline Mix, coffee and ice cream.  Mix whipped topping and Southern Praline Mix.  Pour coffee mixture into a tall glass and top with whipped topping mixture.

Savannah Sleep

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. Southern Praline Mix
  • 1 glass Milk

 

Directions:  Add Southern Praline Mix to milk and warm in microwave.

Southern Cappuccino:

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. Southern Praline Mix
  • 1 cup strong hot coffee
  • 1 splash cream
  • 1 shot bourbon (optional)
  • 1 shot Southern Praline Mix
  • 1 dollop whipped topping

 

Directions:  Add Southern Praline Mix to coffee.  Add cream.  Mix together Southern Praline Mix and whipped topping. Garnish coffee mixture.

Delta Queen

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Southern Praline Mix
  • 2 oz. Brandy or bourbon
  • 2 oz. cream
  • ice

 

Directions:  Pour Southern Praline Mix, Brandy and cream over ice.

Breakfast Entrees

Breakfast Treat

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. can home-style biscuits
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup chopped nuts
  • ¼ cup Southern Praline Mix
  • 3 tbsp. butter melted

 

Directions:  Mix all ingredients together except biscuits, and place in the bottom of a round cake pan.  Place biscuits on top.  Bake 10 min. at 400 degrees.

Praline Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup Southern Praline Mix
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 16oz scalded milk
  • 2 cups bread cubes
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • Toasted pecans to garnish

 

Directions:  Beat eggs lightly with Southern Praline Mix, brown sugar and salt.  Stir in scalded milk.  Pour mixture over bread cubes in a buttered baking dish.  Dot the mixture with butter.  Place the dish in a pan of hot water.  Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes or until custard is set. Garnish with toasted pecans.

Praline Breakfast Sausages

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. breakfast sausage links
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup pineapple (or orange) juice
  • ½ cup Southern Praline Mix

 

Directions:  Brown sausage links in a pan with a little butter.  Blend brown sugar, pineapple juice, and Southern Praline Mix.  Pour over sausages, and cook until sausages are done and sauce begins to thicken.

Praline Ham Glaze

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Southern Praline Mix
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup mustard

 

Directions:  Southern Praline Mix with brown sugar and mustard.

Praline Breakfast Treats

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup Southern Praline Mix
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 1 8oz can home-style biscuits

 

Directions:  Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Combine in bottom of a round cake pan, Southern Praline mix, brown sugar, chopped pecans and butter.  Place biscuits on top of the mixture and bake for approximately 10 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.  Let cool slightly and very carefully invert breakfast treats onto a serving dish so the gooey side is face up.

Entrees

Chicken Rolls with Praline Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 4 flattened chicken breast
  • Garlic salt
  • 4 slices Monterey Jack Cheese
  • 4 slices Canadian Bacon
  • 1 stick butter melted
  • ½ cup Southern Praline Mix

 

Directions:  Sprinkle chicken breasts with garlic salt.  Place a slice of Monterey Jack cheese and Canadian bacon on each breast.  Roll chicken and secure with toothpick.  Place in a baking dish.  Add Southern Praline Mix to melted butter and simmer for 2-3 min.  Pour over chicken and bake at 350 for 30 min.

Vegetables

Praline Acorn Squash

Ingredients:

  • 1 acorn squash
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. Southern Praline Mix
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup Southern Praline Mix

 

Directions:  Cut acorn squash in half and remove seeds.  Place the acorn squash in a baking dish and fill the center of each squash with 1 tbsp. of butter and 1 tbsp. of Southern Praline Mix. Mix water and Southern Praline Mix and pour into pan around the squash. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for about 1 hour, until tender.

French Praline Carrots

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. baby carrots
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 8 oz. carton sour cream
  • ½ stick melted butter
  • ½ cup Southern Praline Mix
  • ½ cup chopped pecans

 

Directions:  Boil carrots in water and salt until barely done and still a little crisp.  Drain and set aside.  Blend sour cream with butter and Southern Praline Mix.  Pour over carrots and toss lightly.  Sprinkle with chopped pecans and serve warm.

Praline Baked Beans

Ingredients:

  • 1 large can baked beans
  • ¼ cup chopped onions
  • 2 tbsp. mustard
  • ½ cup Southern Praline Mix

 

Directions:  Mix together baked beans, onions, mustard, and Southern Praline Mix.  Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes or heat on grill while cooking meat.

Praline Carrots & Onions

Ingredients:

  • ½ stick butter
  • 1 bag frozen carrots
  • 2 Vidalia Onions
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup Southern Praline Mix

 

Directions:  Melt butter in a frying pan.  Add carrots and onions which have been sliced and separated into rings.  Add brown sugar.  Cook on medium heat until tender.  Add Southern Praline Mix and cook for 5 min.  Serve hot.

Praline Sweet Potato Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup Southern Praline Mix
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup flour
  • ¼ cup Southern Praline Mix
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp. melted butter

 

Directions:  Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  In a large mixing bowl, mix sweet potatoes, Southern Praline Mix, eggs, milk, and butter.  Pour into 9 x 13 baking dish.  In a bowl, mix pecans, flour, Southern Praline Mix, brown sugar and butter until crumbly.  Sprinkle over sweet potatoes and bake for 35-40 minutes.
