Southern Almond Cappuccino

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. Southern Almond Mix
  • 1 cup strong hot coffee
  • Splash of Cream

Directions: Add Southern Almond Mix to coffee and cream.

Southern Almond Cappuccino with a Kick

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. Southern Almond Mix
  • 1 cup strong hot coffee
  • Splash of Cream
  • Shot of Bourbon

Directions: Add Southern Almond Mix to coffee, cream and bourbon.

Almond Mocha Coffee

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup coffee
  • 1 tablespoon Southern Almond Mix
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
  • Dollop of Terrific Whipped Topping
  • Shaved chocolate

Directions: Fill a warmed mug ¾ full with good, strong, hot coffee. Add Southern Almond Mix and chocolate syrup. Stir well. Top with flavored Terrific Whipped Topping and shaved chocolate.

Almond Peachy Colada

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • ¼ cup Southern Peach Mix
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Slice Peaches
  • Toasted Almonds
  • Toasted Coconut
  • Shot of rum

Directions: In a blender, add Southern Almond Mix, Southern Peach Mix, and vanilla ice cream. Blend until smooth. Garnish with sliced peaches & toasted almond slices. Kick it up with a shot of rum!

Almond Cooler

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooled very strong coffee
  • ¼ cup Hershey’s Chocolate syrup
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup Southern Almond Mix

Directions: Whisk together coffee, Hershey's chocolate syrup, milk, and Southern Almond Mix.  Serve over ice, or warm in microwave.

Cafe Almond Royal

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • ½ cup strong black coffee
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • ¼ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • 8oz thawed whipped topping

Directions: Blend until smooth Southern Almond Mix, coffee, and vanilla ice cream.  Pour into tall glass. Blend Southern Almond Mix and whipped topping.

Almond Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Plain Nonfat Frozen Yogurt
  • ½ cup skim milk
  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix

Directions: Whirl in blender until smooth Plain Nonfat Frozen yogurt, skim milk and Southern Almond Mix.

Almond Sour

Ingredients:

  • 1 jigger Southern Almond Mix
  • 1 jigger Vodka
  • Ice
  • Sweet & Sour Mix

Directions: Pour a jigger of Almond Mix, jigger of vodka over ice in rocks glass finish filling with sweet & sour mix.

Almond Velvet

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Chocolate Ice Cream
  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • Shot of Rum or Vodka optional

Directions: Mix in blender chocolate ice cream, Southern Almond Mix.

Apple Slushy

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix

Directions: Blend apple juice, banana, strawberries and Southern Almond Mix.

Orange Almond Blush

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups ice cream
  • ¾ cups orange juice
  • 1/3 cup Southern Almond Mix

Directions: Whirl in blender until smooth, ice cream, orange juice and Southern Almond Mix.  For a rich tasting treat without the guilt use not-fat ice-cream or yogurt.

Polar Bear

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot vodka
  • 1 shot Southern Almond Mix
  • Milk

Directions: In a rocks glass, pour a shot of vodka & Southern Almond Mix over ice. Fill glass with milk.

Entrees

Almond Pork Loin Roast

Ingredients:

  • 1 boneless pork loin
  • 1 cup toasted chopped almonds
  • 1 cup Southern Almond Mix

Directions:  Fill a boneless pork loin with toasted chopped almonds, roll and tie.  Sprinkle generously with Southern Almond Mix and let marinate for at least 2 hours. Put on rotisserie or grill and baste with Southern Almond Mix during cooking.

Chicken Almandine

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken breast halves
  • Butter
  • Morton’s Natural Seasoning salt
  • 3 tbsp. Southern Almond Mix
  • Slivered almonds

Directions:  Sauté chicken breast halves in butter until lightly browned. Sprinkle with Morton's Natural Seasoning Salt.  Spoon Southern Almond Mix over chicken. Cover and cook about 20 minutes. When ready to serve, sprinkle slivered almonds over chicken.

Coconut Battered Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 7oz bag grated coconut
  • 1 lb jumbo shrimp
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • ½ cup orange marmalade
  • 3 tbsp. Southern Almond Mix
  • 1 tbsp prepared horseradish

Directions:  Beat together until smooth the egg, milk, Southern Almond Mix, the flour, the salt, and the melted butter.  Stir in a 7 oz bag of grated coconut.  Chill for 2 hours.  Dredge shrimp in cornstarch, then coat with batter and deep fry for 2-3 minutes.  Just before serving, combine the orange marmalade, Southern Almond Mix, and the horseradish for a great dipping sauce.

Savannah Scallops

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb scallops
  • ½ cup finely chopped green onions
  • ½ cup finely chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 1 to 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix

Directions:  Dry scallops on both sides with a paper towel. In a large skillet, heat butter until melted over medium high heat and add the mushrooms, onions and scallops. Sauté the scallops until they are opaque, remove from pan and transfer to a warm plate.  Add whipping cream and Southern Almond Mix to skillet.  Simmer until mixture coats the back of a spoon.  Add scallops back to pan until just heated through.  Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve over yellow or white rice.

Fish Almandine

Ingredients:

  • 4 fish filets
  • ½ cup Sugar Free Southern Almond Mix
  • 2 tbsp. dry seafood boil
  • ¼ cup slivered almonds

Directions:  Sprinkle fresh fish fillets with Sugar Free Almond Mix and dry broil. Sprinkle with almond silvers before serving.

Savannah Trout Almandine

Ingredients:

  • 2 Trout filet
  • ½ cup almonds
  • ¼ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • 1 tbsp melted butter

 

Directions:  Cover one trout filet with chopped almonds and top with a second fillet.  Drizzle with Southern Almond Mix and a little melted butter and bake on 350 degrees for 20 minutes, or until desired doneness.

 

Vegetables, Salads & Fruits

Almond Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp slivered almonds
  • 1 can green beans, drained
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp. Southern Almond Mix

Directions: Stir almonds and beans together. Dot the top of the bean mixture with butter.  Sprinkle with Southern Almond Mix.  Stir and cook for 5 minutes.  Serve Hot.

Almond Fruit Salad

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • 4 cups Seasonal fresh fruit
  • ¼ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • 8oz whipped topping thawed

Directions:  Pour Southern Almond Mix over fresh fruits.  Chill to allow Almond Mix to flavor fruit.  Blend

Southern Almond Mix with whipped topping.  Garnish and serve.

Almond Oranges

Ingredients:

  • 4 or 5 Navel Oranges
  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • Orange Sherbet

Directions: Peel and thinly slice oranges into rounds.  Pour Southern Almond Mix over orange slices.  Marinate in refrigerator at least 2 hours.  When you are ready to serve, place the marinated orange slices in a dessert bowl with a scoop of orange sherbet on top.  Drizzle the bowl with Almond Mix.

Fruit Boat

Ingredients:

  • 1 med Watermelon
  • 4 cups seasonal fruit
  • 1 cup Southern Almond Mix
  • ¼ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • 8oz whipped topping thawed

Directions:  Halve a watermelon.  Scoop out fruit and fill with a variety of fresh fruits including water melon balls, other melon balls, strawberries and/or additional fresh fruits if desired.  Sprinkle the fruit with a generous amount of Southern Almond Mix.  Chill until ready to serve.  Mix together Southern Almond Mix and whipped topping.  Cover the top of the melon and fruit with the whipped topping mixture.

Fruit Stand Salad

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups seasonal fruit and berries
  • 1 cup Southern Almond Mix

Directions:  In a pretty, clear bowl, arrange seasonal fruit.  Sprinkle fruit with generous amount of Southern Almond Mix.

Heavenly Ambrosia

Ingredients:

  • 6 fresh oranges or 2 11 oz cans mandarin oranges (drained)
  • ½ cup pecans
  • ¼ cup coconut
  • ½ cup cherries
  • 1 cup marshmallows
  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix

Directions:  Peel, seed and chop oranges.  Add pecans, coconut, cherries, marshmallows, and Almond Mix.  Mix together and chill until ready to serve.

Desserts

Almond Angel Food Cake

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • 1 cup thawed Cool Whip
  • 1 small package instant vanilla pudding
  • ¼ cup slivered almonds
  • 1 cups sliced strawberries

Directions: Mix together milk, Southern Almond Mix, Cool Whip and vanilla pudding.  Slice an angel food cake in half.  Cover bottom layer with the mixture.  Replace the top half.  Cover the rest of the cake with the mixture and sprinkle with toasted almonds and/or sliced fresh strawberries.  Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Almond Chocolate Truffles

Ingredients:

  • 3 4oz semisweet chocolate bars
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tbsp. Southern Almond Mix
  • ¼ cup finely chopped almonds

Directions: Cut the chocolate bars into pieces.  Mix the chocolate with the whipping cream and microwave until smooth and melted.  Whisk in the Southern Almond Mix.  Let stand 20 min.  Beat at medium speed with electric mixer until mixture forms soft peaks (about 4 min.)  Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in finely chopped almonds.

EZ Almond Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup sliced almonds

Directions: Prepare boxed yellow cake mix and bake in 9 x 13 pan. Simmer over low heat in sauce pan for 15 minutes

Southern Almond Mix, heavy cream and sliced almonds. Poke holes in cake with large fork and pour sauce over cake.

Almond Joy Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 Duncan Hines Devil’s Food Cake
  • 1 cup Carnation Evaporated Milk
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • 24 large Marshmallows
  • 1 14oz bag flaked coconut
  • 1 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 can Chocolate Frosting

Directions:  Bake a Duncan Hines Devil's Food cake in two round cake pans according to package directions.  While cake is cooling, combine in a saucepan the evaporated milk, the cornstarch and the Southern Almond Mix.  Add the large marshmallows.  Cook the mixture on low until the marshmallows melt, stirring constantly.  Stir in the coconut and the almonds.  Spread mixture on top of first layer, top with the second layer, and frost entire cake with chocolate frosting.

Freedom Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf pound cake
  • 12oz thawed Cooled Whip
  • 12oz cream cheese softened
  • 3 drops red food coloring
  • 3 drops blue food coloring
  • 1/3 cup Southern Almond Mix
  • 1/3 cup Southern Strawberry Mix

Directions:  Slice pound cake into 3 layers.  Combine the cream cheese and the whipped topping.  Beat until fluffy.  Divide this mixture into thirds.  To 1/3 of the mixture, add the red food coloring and the Southern Strawberry.  Frost the bottom layer.  To another 1/3 of the mixture, add the blue food coloring and the Southern Almond Mix.  Frost the middle layer.  Frost the top layer with the remaining 1/3 of the mixture.

Heavenly Chocolate Almond Cloud

Ingredients:

  • 1 angel food cake
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding
  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • 1 8oz package cream cheese softened
  • 1 7oz jar marshmallow cream
  • 1/3 cup Southern Almond Mix

Directions: Cut half of an angel food cake into 1 inch cubes and set aside.  Prepare the pudding mix as directed on package substituting the Southern Almond Mix for the milk.  Fold cake into the pudding mixture and place in a pretty, clear bowl.  Blend the cream cheese, the marshmallow cream and the Southern Almond Mix together and drizzle over the top of the cake mixture.

Just Peachy

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sliced peaches
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 2 tbsp. Southern Peach Mix
  • 1 tbsp. Southern Almond Mix

Directions:  Cook the peaches and orange juice over medium heat until tender.  Place peach mixture, sugar, Southern Peach Mix and Southern Almond Mix into a blender or food processor and beat until smooth.  Chill.  Serve over ice cream alone or with additional fresh peaches.

Quick Cherry Almond Ice Box Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1/3 cup Southern Almond Mix
  • 1 graham cracker or Oreo crust
  • 1 cup Cool Whip thawed
  • 1/3 cup Southern Almond Mix
  • 3 cups miniature marshmallows
  • Toasted almond to garnish

Directions:  Mix together the cherry pie filling and the Southern Almond Mix and pour into the crust.  Fold together the Cool Whip, the Southern Almond Mix and the marshmallows.  Spread mixture over the top of the cherries.  Garnish with toasted almonds if desired. Refrigerate and serve.

Savannah Squares Almond Crunch

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 2 cups whole almonds
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ cup White Sugar
  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix
  • ½ tsp baking soda

Directions:  Stir together Rice Chex and whole almonds in a 9 x 13 pan.  Melt butter, White Sugar, and Southern Almond Mix.  Heat until boiling, and then simmer for two minutes.  Add baking soda and stir until foamy.  Pour mixture over cereal and nuts and stir to coat well.  Bake at 250 for one hour, stirring mixture once.  Remove from oven and spread on a cookie sheet to cool.  For a sweet and spicy version of this recipe, add cayenne pepper to taste to liquid mixture prior to boiling.

Savannah Fruit Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 8oz package cream cheese softened
  • 1 7oz jar marshmallow cream
  • ½ cup Southern Almond Mix

Directions: Mix together cream cheese, marshmallow cream, and Southern Almond mix. Serve with fruit chunks and Teddy Grahams.

Almond Dip

Ingredients:

  • 8oz cream cheese
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup Southern Almond Mix

 Directions:  With electric mixer whip cream cheese, powdered sugar, chopped pecans, and Southern Almond Mix until fluffy.

Terrific Whipped Topping

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup Almond Mix
  • 12oz whipped topping thawed

 

Directions:  Blend Almond Mix with whipped topping.
